Keaton at the Lima Temple

September 30, 2015

Hola familia y amigos, y bienbenidos a la CCM, PERUUUUU!!!
Hi guys! I´m going into week four and I feel amazing. Last week started off a little slow, but it quickly got better as time went on. It seems like yesterday I was typing this email. As I´ve said before the CCM has a lot of personal experiences and not a ton of real things so please bare with me.
I currently weigh 247 lbs, that´s right I´ve lost 15 and I am lookin good! HAHA, we have class everyday for 7 hours a day and speaking Spanish a lot. I get along with the new group of Latinos that has come in and I´m excited.
I got to see Angie! They showed us a devotional live from the CCM provo, and there she was with the camera right on her! It was amazing to see my cousin. Elder Babbel and I have star talent! We can sing and dance and basically do anything!
Our teacher Hermana louisa leaves this week which is pretty sad, but that´s ok! We will make it. We are teaching lessons and making every moment count in the CCM!
We watched the Funeral of President Scott. It was such a spiritual experience to listen to the words of his son and a few apostles. I love the spirit and I am feeling it so strong in my life. I can´t believe just how fantastic my time has been here in the CCM. So the one day where things happen is P day, so here we go!!!!

We went to the Temple and did our laundry in the morning! It was fantastic and I loved receiving such blessings from attending the temple. Also we went to Tottus again and got some snacks for the week. I love the people here so much, they are all so happy and cheerful. We got on the bus ride to the CCM and that was nice being able to just chill instead of stand on the bus. I was released as district leader SUNDAY! and I´m pretty excited it´s over. That´s pretty much my week so any questions?

Keaton at the Temple

September 23, 2015

This week was kinda boring from your perspective. For me it´s spiritually out of the roof, but kinda boring for you guys. I had class for six to seven hours a day this week. In most of them I was teaching lessons. So instead of telling you all about my boring week I´ll start out by comparing the CCM to Monsters INC:
It´s all about learning how to teach someone the gospel, like scaring. I´m scared to come into contact with any girl no matter how big or how small. We have simulators that show us how good we are at teaching, and basically our only job is teaching the gospel. There are even more comparisons.
Well this week was fantastic we have been teaching the Gospel to our mock investigators Kathleen and Matias. Every lesson is in Spanish so that can be hard at times, but the language comes more and more each day. This week we had to say goodbye to all of the avensaros which was sad, but at least they get to leave this place. I will miss some of them, and be glad that most of them are gone! Elder Hosch left in that group and since he was the one who came and talked to us at night, I´ll have nothing to do for the next couple weeks. The CCM is actually starting to grow on me! It´s hard, but I know that It´s so worth it and that this is where heavenly father wants me to be.
I love the grounds crew here at the CCM. I got to help the Gardiner groom some tall plants since he was about 5´4 and I´m a little taller than that! I love talking to all of them and I can understand most of what they say and that is a miracle. Mostly because there Spanish is not cleanly spoken.
Elder Babbel and I have been getting along and I´m looking forward to our next lesson. Please pray for Elder Babbel´s ankle. We MAY or may not have collided in soccer... He´s completely fine, but it´s still bugging him a little, so please keep him in your prayers. Thank you so much for all of your prayers for me and the missionaries around the world. I promise you we all feel them.
It´s been a wonderful week, but other than working hard on the language there´s nothing much that happened.
Today was by far the most interesting day and we went to the temple, one of my favorite things in the world. Then we went to tottus again. Bought three dollars in groceries and we went home. But our bus left us so we had to hop on the smallest public bus ever. Let´s just say it was crammed full my chin was touching my chest and I was slouched over. Pretty exciting, plus every bus ride is like riding the Indiana Jones ride at DISNEYLAND. But it´s even more fun because there´s cars zoomin past in all directions.
Let me just say I´m grateful for you all and I think of all of you guys on my P days and before I go to bed. Your AMAZING! You better remember that. I hope you guys can all have the blast that I´m having! OH, just remember to make everything more happy in your lives ´it´s your choice KEATON!´ -My mom
Well I´ll have about an hour to respond to your guys emails so bring um in!
PS, I say Elder(JOSH) Robertson here at the CCM today! He is a friend from MV so that was pretty darn exciting. Love you all, be safe in the UNITED STATES. Peru is way better you guys should live down here. Hasta Lluego!

Family Letter 9.16.15

I love you guys so much! You are amazing and you all have amazing hearts. I´m doing fine! The first day seamed like a year, but after that I was ok! I feel your prayers and the prayers around the world as a missionary. You are so wonderful and I hope you guys are doing fantastic. I know It´s been hard without me cause I am obviously the most funny person around! You guys are just plain fantastic! I can´t believe it´s already been a week, minus the first day #yearlong. But I love you guys so much. I love the picture of you guys in my wallet and I want you to know that all of you are very special to me. How´s it going everyone? What´s up?
OH my goodness that package made my day! Thank you so much. You guys are amazing! I love each and every single one of you.

First Official Letter!! September 16, 2015

Hola from LIMA PERU! That´s right I made it safe!
I´m here in the CCM and it´s been a long, but fun week. I said goodbye to my family last Tuesday and I´ve tried not to look back. If any of you guys are considering serving a mission do not quit on the first day. It is long and really hard, but everyday after has been a blessing and has gone be generally fast. After sayin goodbye I hopped on the plane and went to Georgia! We landed and had a total of thirty minutes to get on our next plane in the airport. It was crazy, but we made it! The flight to Lima was forever long, but we made it some how some way. I slept for about thirty minutes on the plane and spent the rest in complete and total silence. It was weird not being able to use the screen in front of me, but the flight passed. As I looked out of the plane window I noticed that we weren´t in Kansas anymore todo. We landed made it through customs without a word and then made it to a hall full of people yelling TAXI!!! A man came up to us and said Elders this way, in the most thick Hispanic accent I´d ever heard. After that and a two hour bus ride we made it to the CCM got there, unpacked and fell asleep at 4.
The next day we woke up at 7. Yup it was soon, but it was well...kinda worth it. We went through a whole bunch of orientations. I almost fell asleep during all of them, but the spirit was there and it was strong. At the end of the day we had a meeting with the WHITE branch. After some emails with the branch president I was named District Leader. Some of you are thinking fun, but no way! It´s hard... I was so tired. OH! and my companion is Elder Babbel! We are so excited and our dad´s are both pediatricians and so forth. Pretty much the same. He is going to SUU to run.
The CCM is all classes. As Hunter Riley states, Spiritual Prison, but it´s actually not that bad. The language is coming along and I am so ready to teach real people...maybe not ready, but excited. We have a mock investigator named Kathleen (Hermana Louisa) and things are going great. We have officially started teaching lessons without notes, a personal decision of elder babbel and I. Also during physical activity I have scored two goals, but who´s counting?
Some inspirations I´ve received from fellow missionaries and the spirit is. Your heart is where your mind is, You must lead with your desire and love, we are truly children of God, and Missionaries are representatives of Jesucristu and Dios.
Oh story time! While learning about body parts an enormous spider jumped on my back. One of the Elders saved me, but we lost the spider. Yup, and its butt was the size of a quarter... I´m so scared of them now.
One relationship that has really grown in the CCM is the one with Elder Hosch(HOASH). He´s about my size we both played left tackle, both are lovin it here, but he is leaving in one week! I know sad. He is amazing he´ll probably be a friend for a long time.
Oh another thing we have made three trips. One to Immigrations which is hard, but I knew just enough spanish to pass, two Interpol! It´s really awkward because you know like a little bit of Spanish, there´s a crucifix in the middle of the square and three CATS! They were so cute little kittens everywhere! Oh and today was P DAY! It was amazing I´ll be focused for another week and I can´t wait. On my goodness the Lima temple is beautiful on the inside! I loved. After we went and picked up some groceries for the week. It cost me five bucks! Well for INCACOLA and detergent and waffle things and hangers. Now our laundry is going and It´s such a fantastic time.
Oh and the advice to all missionaries is true! Make it to Sunday! I love you all and am excited to see your responses.
Any questions you want you may!
ELDER WYNN
PS. They spelt one of my name tags wrong ELDER WYNNN. HAHA, I got it fixed and I´m so excited. I got a package from my family and I LOVE YOU GUYS. Thank you so much! Made P day even better. Hasta luego!
