Get the water ready!

Hola hola, Feliz Halloween! :) Alguien esta vestido como un peruano?

How are you all doing familia? Haha, well they have things a little messed up here so halloween was actually celebrated yesterday! Cajamarca is probably the only part in the mission were they remember halloween. :)

As the title says we will be getting the water ready for the month of november. We´re teaching a family of 4 Nelson (father-Less active), Jackelin( MOther), Justin (Son), Marjori (Daughter). We taught Jackelin for the 2nd time this week and talked about the book of mormon. It´s either true or it´s not! We gave it to them so they could test it for themselves and it worked! They loved it and we invited the whole family for the 26th of November, and all accepted! We passed by later in the week to see how they were doing with the Book and talked about eternal families. Jackelin got so excited talking about the possibilities of an eternal family and she believed it was true. We need to work a little so they can read the book of mormon, but holy cow the family is golden! ;)

We are going to have a great week running back and forth from trujillo, interviews with president, and PDAY WILL BE THIS SAYURDAY. So I will write on saturday!

Short and Sweet!

My beloved family and amigos! You are all super duper amazing and thank you for all that you write to me. Thank you for all of the prayers and love that you send out each week! I really can feel it.

An amazing lesson with an investigador this past week. He has been struggling to know if the church is true and so we had a special lesson in the church. He really felt our love, I had him and my companion teach me! :) haha, and he testified of the book of mormon. After to help him with the doubts we gave him a priesthood blessing and left him alone to pray. He said he could feel that joseph smith was a prophet.

This week was hard to get into a house. We were fighting really hard, but we couldn`t see any results until sunday other than that lesson. But as always Heavenly Father had something else planned. We sat there starting sacrament meeting and there were no investigadors there, but one by one they started trickling in. at the end 9 ended up being there in church. It was an amazing miracle. The Lord takes care of us if we fight and work with all of our heart might mind and strength!

The Power of creativity

Oh I really hope I spelled that title right... But oh well! :) Hola!!! Familia como estan? It`s oficial I think a ton in spanish and I`m not sure what to do. It`s been an amazing week, but we`re going to focus in on one lesson that we had.

Yesterday we went to teach a lesson to one of our new families! The kids have been coming to church but the grandparents have just been to hard to find. We started the lesson and began to preach of the power of the restoration. We were teaching very well untill we hit the story of Joseph Smith. My companion was explaining the apostasy and I knew I had to do something creative to keep everyone`s atention. As I looked I realized that one of the boys of the family was 14 years old! Bingo ;) So we had an activity. He stepped out of the room and when he entered every person began screaming saying, `This is the true church follow us`. They preached diferent doctrine and continued yelling at him. We asked him which of all the churches were true and he just pointed at the first one he saw. We preached to them of the power of prayer and they truly knew they could. Each one promised to pray and ask if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints is true. After we gave the grandparents a blessing of health and they could literaly feel the power of the priesthood that Joseph Smith restored. It was spectacular! ;) Don`t ever doubt the fact that there are many ways to help others feel the power of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Other amazing miracles have been happening, and we could be having a lot of baptisms coming up! Lessons of the week never doubt the power of prayer or of priesthood power! :) And to top it all night Elder Nuñez attacked me and we had a spectacular wrestling match to finish the week. Haha, he is an amazing missionary and we are going to be friends forever!.

Just be better

Hello! :) It´s amazing to be able to talk to all of you this week. It was spectacular, Elder Nuñez and I kicked it off to an amazing start! We just went to work and everything began to fall into place.

We have rescued a family of two mother daughter and they have other people that are in their family. We decided to try and do a FHE in their home and oh did it work. We taught the grandparents of the family and a few other grandchildren, two of which came to church this sunday. THey had an amazing time and they want to have another FHE so that their parents can listen too.

Elder Nuñez and I started our fast this saturday and we left to go proselyte. We had a referral for a house, but nobody was answering the door. So we went to a street close and contacted a sister sitting outside. She let us in the house and we taught the whole family about the importance of marriage! THey know it´s something worth fighting for and want to listen more to us! Funny experience: We got into the house and we started talking to the family and they offered us cake. As I was chewing the first bite I thought to myself ´finding a famliy like this only happens during a fast.´ 

We had many people in the chapel and a great day on sunday, except for, one of our investigadors that was progressing most decided the gospel life isn´t totally for her. We´re not sure what´s gonna happen, but we need your prayers!

I love you all so much! Remember, if you ever have doubts or don´t know what to do you can always ask your loving Heavenly Father and he´ll guide you. We all have trials and challenges, but they´re only there to teach us so that one day we can become as our heavenly Father.

El papa es argentino

Familia!!! I am doing so great it was a little bit of a wierd week. Elder Medrano is going to be heading back to trujillo. no me quedo con barranquia :( I love elder Medrano so much. I know I havn´t told everyone a ton about him, but he is amazing! He´s taught me so much and he is absolutly hilarious! But el papa and my next companion son argentinos!!! We are going to make carne asado ;) Dad he´s from argentina!!! His name is elder Nuñez.

This last week was an adventure with a lot of things that happened but I survived! I love cajamarca so much. We had some amazing people go to conference!!! A family that´s never come to church the familia quispealaya. It was an amazing experience and I loved it. My companion went to celendin so i was the only one here! But everything went really smoothly. Conference was amazing and I hope you all know that every single one of the people who talked are special witnesses of Jesus Christ and his ressurection! Love you all with all my heart!

Hello!!!! Friends and Family and everyone else ;) Good morning and welcome to an amazing week! Today, I was thinking a lot that his week is about general conference and I wanted to leave an amazing title to this email... but it´s just not coming to me!

This week we´ve been seeing a lot more miracles that are here! Some of these have been the following:

Walking through the street on a rainy cajamarca day when out of the blue this man stopped us in the road. He called us by Elderes and explained that he had been looking for us for a really long time. He had moved here to cajamarca and had been listening to the misssionaries before, but lost contact! He´s been looking for missionaries to listen too so that he can come to church!

We had an amazing service were we walked into the house for a lesson, but he was building something for his wife. He almost told us he wouldn´t have time when my companion and I offered to lend a hand. It took up a bit of our time, but now the whole family will be listening to us in the following week! It´s the parents and they have 3 kids and an inlaw. They are all a bit older the children in their 20´s and 30´s. It´s a few families put together. After the service they told us we´re welcome back whenever!

Last but not least we have been teaching a family that has had major problems progressing because the father/husband doesn´t want to get married... He has changed so much this week! We just sat down and read the Book of Mormon with him every day. He´s smiling more joking more and we´ll see what else will happen.

Funny momment: I´m in charge of getting all of the packages that come up to cajamarca to the missionaries! And one of the funniest spanish mistakes I´ve ever made was saying, who needs book of mormons? ¿Quien necesita libro de mormones? Now wherever someone needs those they ask, can we have the book of mormons?

I love you all so very much! You have absolutly no idea ;) Something so important to remember is to look for the potential of the person and not who they are in the moment. If we do that our lives are a lot easier. I´m also pretty sure that our Savior had to do the same. With his apostle peter he struggled to get him going, but peter turned out to be his prophet. We also see the examples in the book of mormon when people rejected the prophets, such as alma the younger, and later turned into the greatest defenders of the truth. I love this work and I know that it´s true! Just keep smiling Keep praying!!! Love you all so much!

The Miracles!

This week was so amazing! We had amazing miracles come to pass... I am so sorry my vocabulary is limited to amazing ;)

First we´ve been working with an investigador for a lot of time now and we finally got a huge breakthrough! He has had to be studying sundays and so he couldn´t go, but some how some way his professor chose to move the class to a different day. He should be coming a lot more to church now!!!

We were outside waiting for a member who was going to acompany us, when I say a man unloading barrels from his car. I decided that I´m big and that I should go help him :) So I unloaded all of the barrels and he gave me sugar cane! We talked with him and noted down his adress,  talked with his little boy! After I was walking around with this sugar cane not knowing what to do, and I saw three kids playing in the street so I gave it to them! Later as we walked by the church a man came running out of his house to ask us to give a blessing to his daughter! He wants his family to be baptized but they live out an hour and a half from Cajamarca so the church isn´t there. THey´ll be atending one of the wards here and they are going to come down every week!!!

It was absolutly amazing! Again sorry.

I know that this is the true church. That miracles exist for each and every one of us. We just have to open our eyes to see them, and our heavenly father will show us the way!
